lyrics

Old gods, old gods,
Won't you come to me
Let me take you in my arms
And I can set you free
For even my embrace
Is easier to face
Than the cold, empty temples where you sleep

Old gods, old gods,
Won't you take my hand?
When you finally come to rest
Then you'll understand
Though my arms are frail
And my skin is pale,
My heart is hot and my kiss is deep

When the tale is no longer told
When the altar finally gets cold
When they topple the towers of gold
This hand you can hold

No Dream, no Dream
Can be your bed
No Dream can be your lover
Keep you safe and fed.
When your name ain't sung
By any living tongue
Well, you ain't too fast and you ain't too young

When the tale is no longer told
When the altar finally gets cold
When they topple the towers of gold
This hand you can hold

When the tale is no longer told
When you've lost your suit of armor made of gold
When the sacrificial altar gets cold
This hand you can hold
